Scheduled Tribes

The change in any society is a complex phenomenon and it is more complex among the scheduled tribes who are the victims of backwardness due to many reasons. This book on the Scheduled Tribes deals with the analysis of changes in socio-economic conditions of scheduled tribes in the TSP area of Rajasthan during the three decades (1971, 1981 and 1991). On the basis of secondary data, quality of the life index is constructed to measure the socio-economic changes. Quality of life index is the end result of all the socio-economic policies of the government. Through various quantitative techniques, econometric models are built, hypothesis are formulated and tested on the basis of which findings are analysed. The study is conducted at the tehsil level. It covers all the socio-economic aspects of development. On the basis of the regional differences, the study highlights the causes of the poor development of the scheduled tribes of Rajasthan, according to which there is need to reformulate the development policies, so that the positive change could be recognized and the goal of balanced development of the country could be fulfilled. hansa jain.htm
